ASUS unveils ROG Z370 Code and Formula motherboards

Two rather similar boards

During the past few days we have covered most of ASUS' motherboards, which are compatible with Intel's latest CPUs. Apparently the company has still a couple of motherboards that will be available soon like the Maximus X Formula and the Maximus X Code. Both models are near-identical, the Formula features liquid-cooling while the Code doesn't.

The two previous ROG Z370 motherboards unveiled from ASUS were the Apex and the Hero. While the first is aimed at extreme overclockers, the Hero is a top-tier motherboard. With ROG Maximus X Formula, ASUS fills the gap between the two previous models. This motherboard comes with three PCIe 3.0 x16 slots and several M.2 and SATA6 ports. The VRM area is covered by a water block from EKWB. The Maximus X Code instead has a more simple aluminum heatsink on the same area.

Furthermore they both come with four DDR4 DIMM slots and allowing for up to 64GB of capacity, two NVMe M.2 slots and they make use of USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C ports. Even the connectors are identical, both motherboards come with Intel Gigabit Ethernet and 2x2 802.11ac WiFi connectivity.

Both the Maximus X Formula and the Maximus X Code feature the so called "ROG armor" and they are Aura Sync-compatible with RGB LED lighting. In the center part of the Formula, there's a 1.3" monochrome OLED display that can be used for displaying your favorite animated GIF or real time informations such as temperature or clock. The Maximus X Code features only a RGB LED and the Republic of Gamers logo.

According to ASUS the ROG Maximus X Formula and Maximus X Code will become available in November and we believe that they will be both quite expensive.
