NVIDIA releases PUBG game ready drivers

388.71 WHQL drivers

The new GeForce Game Ready 388.71 WHQL drivers offer optimisations for the biggest game released this week, PUBG, the multiplayer online battle royale game developed and published by PUBG Corporation. Apart from game support some bugs have been addressed as well.

PUBG is finally available and if you want achieve the best performance you should install the latest NVIDIA drivers. If you want know what kind of NVIDIA-based setup is recommended for various gameplay resolutions and detail levels check out NVIDIA's quick reference. According to NVIDIA, the GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card is good to run PUBG at 70 FPS at 1920 x 1080 resolution without frame drops. With a resolution of 2560 x 1440, the GeForce GTX 1070 is the first GPU to exceed 70 FPS and with the demanding 4K resolution you need the powerful GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. Only with this card you can obtain 60 FPS with High settings.

If you want run Ultra settings and keep 60 FPS average on PUBG, you need at least a GeForce GTX 1070 in 1920 x 1080, a GeForce GTX 1080 in 2560 x 1440 and a custom GeForce GTX 1080 Ti in 3840 x 2160 resolution.

In addition to support for PUBG, this driver provides the "optimal gaming experience" for these titles: Assassin's Creed Origins, Call of Duty: WWII, Destiny 2, Forza Motorsport 7, Injustice 2, Middle-earth: Shadow of War, Need for Speed Payback, Star Wars Battlefront II, The Evil Within and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.

As always, you can download the new GeForce 388.71 WHQL drivers over at NVIDIA's support page or automatically via the Geforce Experience software.
