Plextor shows M9Pe NVMe SSD

Another player in the Samsung space

NVMe capable SSDs are growing increasingly popular these days, offering much higher transfer speeds than your usual SATA drive. A few months ago Plextor unveiled the M8Se NVMe SSD and now the company is ready to unveil another quick SSD.

At this time there isn't so many informations on this upcoming driver. Like the previous version, the Plextor M9Pe NVMe SSD might be available with 120GB, 240GB, 480GB and 1TB capacity. Like most NVMe SSDs out today, the Plextor M9Pe NVMe SSD makes use of the M.2 2280 form factor and a PCIe Gen 3.0 x4 interface.

Looking at the performance figures, sequentially reading these drives should hit up to 2'500MB/s and 2'100MB/s in the case of sequential writing. This performance numbers are very close to the Samsung 960 EVO and 960 PRO.

According to latest rumors, Plextor M9Pe should be available soon.
