Samsung working on a 49-inch gaming monitor

With 5K resolution

According to TFT Central, Samsung is working on a new ultra wide display. The monitor is based on a rather unusual 5120 x 1440 resolution and a massive 1800R curved display. Furthermore the display might support AMD FreeSync 2 which allows the panel to communicate with your PC sharing colour space information, brightness values apart from the variable refresh rate information.

Last year Samsung released their 49-inch CHG90 dual-FHD 3840 x 1080 QLED (Quantum Dot) display, the upcoming model might be an updated version of the current CHG90. The new display is said to use a VA panel and it's set for production in September 2018. With this monitor, Samsung is offering a dual 1440p experience on a single display. Apart from that there is an 1800R curvature, which is supposed to allow for an even more immersive experience, may you be gaming or watching a movie.

Since the retail price for the C49HG90 QLED Gaming monitor is set to $1499 US, we expect a premium price for the upcoming model. According to latest rumors, this display might cost around $2000 USD.
