EVGA shows Z390 Dark motherboard

Soon available

EVGA today introduces the Z390 Dark, a motherboard that belongs to the high-end series and it's recommended for enthusiast and overclocker users. At the moment this is the second Z390 motherboard from EVGA and we expect to see also the tiny mini-ITX on later stage.

Compared to the previous generation we see many changes. First of all the socket has been rotated counterclockwise by 90 degrees and the PCB now sports only two DIMM slots. The Z390 Dark is based on an E-ATX form factor and it comes with an armada of features. The heatsinks look pretty solid and at the moment isn't clear if they are connected each other with some heat pipes.

Layout wise we find three PCIe Gen 3.0 slots with steel reinforcements and one PCIe x4 slot. Furthermore on the storage side we see two M.2 slots, eight SATA ports and a pair of USB headers placed on the PCB. The audio area has been reworked and now EVGA has added two big yellow caps that should improve the overall audio quality.

Last but not least we also see all the bells and whistles you'd ask for in the event of overclocking. The Z390 Dark features a 17 phase VRM design and a couple of additional 8-pin power connectors that should help with overclocking sessions.

Since this model belongs to the high-end series, we believe that will be pretty expensive.
