The new Google Nexus 7 scheduled for July

To be powered by Qualcomm chipset

According to Reuters and its two independent sources, we might see the new Google Nexus 7 in July. As rumored earlier, the new Google Nexus 7 will be based on Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset rather than the Nvidia one.

It was rumored earlier that Asus and Google decided to go with Qualcomm chipset since Nvidia Tegra 4 was lacking LTE support, was unexpectedly delayed and had similar price. According to Reuters, the new Nexus 7 will end up with a higher resolution screen and thinner bezel.

Reuters suspect that Google might go for the US $199 price with the new Nexus 7 while previous generation could get a price cut. It also noted that Google might go for a more aggressive model and decide to go with the US $149 and simply discontinue the old one.

We are quite sure that more information will show up as we draw closer to the rumored July launch date.
