Haswell based Macbooks coming soon

With Retina screen

According to an analyst from KGI Securities, Apple might be working on refreshed Macbooks that could launch as early as this June. According to the report, new Macbook refresh should be based on Intel's upcoming Haswell CPU and even feature a high-resolution Retina screen.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo notes that Macbooks should be in production by mid-May and although there is no info on what could Apple actually change regarding the look of its Macbook line, same report says that it will feature a "significant redesigns." Unfortunately, Tim Cook's recent statement that Apple will not have any new hardware before the end of 2013 cast quite a big shadow on these rumors but it also could mean that there will not be any new product lines, while product updates are not excluded.

The choice of Retina screen does not come as a surprise since Apple's last such product really got good feedback, despite the lack of content for such screen. Intel's upcoming Haswell will not hurt either as high-resolution screens demand a decent level of performance.

In any case, the MacBook refresh is certainly coming and it is just a matter of timeframe as it could be June or the end of 2013.
