Sony Project Morpheus was part of PS4 from start

DualShock light bar is for it

It appears that the Sony's virtual reality Project Morpheus was a key part of the Playstation 4 from the start as, according to the report from Techradar.com, the light bar on the Playstation 4 Dual Shock controller is actually there for exactly the Project Morpheus.

While many users were quite annoyed by the light bar on the Playstation 4 DualShock controller which tend to be too bright and got reflected in the TV, developers at Sony now say that it is there to support the upcoming Project Morpheus as the tracking light for VR.

The big problem was that Sony was not able to talk about it before the official unveil of the Project Morpheus. Jed Ashfort, Senior Designer at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe told Techradar that the VR team ensured the tracking light was put into the controller but everyone had to keep quiet about its main purpose which caused a lot of problems when the light turned out to be to bright, especially as they could not release a statement regarding the problem.
