Plextor expands M6e SSD range with M.2 form factor

The M6e M.2 PCIe Gen2 x2 SSD

Plextor has expanded its M6e SSD range with addition of the M6e M.2 PCIe Gen2 x2 SSD based on M.2 PCIe 2280 form-factor.


Based on Marvell's PCIe 9183 controller paired up with Toshiba Toggle NAND flash memory and on board DDR DRAM cache, the new M6e M.2 PCIe SSD will offer sequential read and write speeds of up to 770MB/s and 625MB/s as well as random 4k read and write speeds of up to 105K and 100K IOPS. The new Plextor M6e M.2 will be available 128, 256 and 512GB capacities and based on M.2 PCIe 2280 (80x22mm) form factor.

In addition to the M6e M.2 SSD, Plextor will also launch three other M.2 form-factor SSDs including the M6G 2280 (80x22mm), M6G 2260 (60x22mm) and the M6G 2242 (42x22mm), which will also users to get a full lineup of M.2 SSDs for both PCI-Express and SATA M.2 slots.

The entire lineup is backed by 5-year warranty and features Plextor's Zero-Failure Zero-Error mass testing standard.

Unfortunately, Plextor did not reveal any details regarding the price of any M.2 form-factor SSDs but did not that these should be available on retail/e-tail shelves by the end of this month.
