Bets a lot on Temash and Kabini

While speaking to Trustedreviews.com about its upcoming System-on-Chip (SoC) Temash and Kabini platforms, Director of Mobility at AMD, Kevin Lensing, noted that the growth of the traditional notebook is gone and on a decline and that the future is actually in tablets and hybrid devices.


28nm, quad-core x86 SoC APU

In addition to Richland and Kabini mobile APU lineup, AMD also shed some details on its Temash APUs that will be a part of AMD's 2013 Elite Mobility APU platform, that will aim at small form-factor notebooks, tablets and 13-inch and below hybrids.


Calls it 2013 AMD Mainstream APU platform

In addition to the Richland and Temash APUs, AMD also announced its new Kabini APUs that will be known as the 2013 AMD Mainstream APU platform. The Kabini APUs will be a part of both A-Series and E-Series of AMD's future lineup and will be based on either two or four "Jaguar" x86 CPU cores combined with GCN-based AMD Radeon HD 8000 series graphics part.


Tweaked Trinity APUs

In addition to shedding some official light on its Kabini and Temash APUs, AMD also officially announced the new 2013 Elite Performance APU platform that will feature Richland mobile APU SKUs.


Adds more games to more graphics cards

In order to put more pressure on Nvidia and its upcoming GTX 700 series graphics cards, AMD has updated its Never Settle bundle and is bringing more games to HD 7700, HD 7800 and HD 7900 series graphics cards.


Rebranded HD 7970M with higher clock

AMD has announced a new mobile GPU flagship, the Radeon HD 8970M. Unfortunately, as exciting as it sounds, the new Radeon HD 8970M is nothing more than a rebrand of the HD 7970M that has been around for quite some time.


In US and Europe

AMD is expected to roll out its entire line of Richland based APUs that will replace the Trinity based ones while retaining the same FM2 socket. Although it is not a part of the Richland 6000-series APUs, the new A4-4000 is a dual-core part that has a rather impressive US $40 price tag.


HD 7970GHz still faster according to AMD



2133MHz with 10-11-11-30 latency

AMD has released a new SKU and a new line of Radeon branded memory, the AMD Radeon RG2133 Gamer Series memory and we now have first details regarding its actual specifications.

In addition to the upcoming desktop Richland APUs, AMD is apparently working on some Richland parts that will have disabled graphics part and will be apparently available under Athlon brand.


CPU-Z for the win!

Coming this June

Here comes the hUMA

During this morning, AMD has announced its new hUMA, the heterogeneous Uniform Memory Access. In short, it is an intelligent computing architecture that enables CPU, GPU and any other processor to access the same memory, which eventually brings many improvements on almost every aspect of the platform.


AMD Vishera based FX-series

AMD has refreshed its FX-Series lineup with two new CPUs, the quad-core FX-4350 and the six-core FX-6350. Since they are a part of AMD's FX-Series, both chips are based on Vishera-core design based on the Piledriver architecture and feature up to 16MB of total cache, AVX and FMA3 instructions and fit into AM3+ socket.


Faster than the HD 6670

It appears that AMD is still not done with the HD 7000 series as the new HD 7730 leaks in full glory. The new HD 7730 has been pictured and tested in various benchmarks by a Coolaler forum member.


One for Radeon HD 7990 graphics card

AMD has launched its newest Catalyst 13.4 WHQL driver that brings support for the launched Radeon HD 7990 flagship dual-GPU graphics card as well as some performance improvements, latency performance, bug fixes and new AMD Enduro profile updates.


Dual-GPU flagship with US $999 price tag

As expected, AMD has lifted the NDA for its new dual-GPU flagship Radeon HD 7990 Malta graphics card. Based on two 28nm Tahiti GPUs, the new HD 7990 Malta has lower power draw and an impressive cooler when compared to the dual-GPU HD 7990 New Zealand graphics card previously released by some partners.

A leaked slide showing upcoming AMD Never Settle bundle games has appeared online and it looks like AMD scored some quite impressive titles.
