Conclusion

General + -
Although it doesn't look too expensive, Cooler Master did a pretty good job with its new Hyper 612v2 mainstream cooler. It offers surprisingly good cooling performance, and most importantly, it works a low noise levels. It costs 39 Euro (MSRP) and for this kind of money you get a well performing cooler.   - Performance

Installation   + -
The installation was easy and practical and features a single installation kit that is compatible with both AMD and Intel sockets which certainly simplifies things. It features wide compatibility and supports most Intel and AMD sockets, including even old Intel LGA 775 and 1366 sockets. The included thermal compound is of decent quality, not pre-applied and comes in a syringe. The screws are solid and there is nothing to criticize with the mounting at all.   - Easy and practical
- Compatible Intel and AMD
- Thermal compound (Tube)

Performance / Lautstärke   + -
When it comes to performance, the Cooler Master Hyper 612v2 is capable enough to keep todays CPUs at reasonable temperature levels. In this case it doesn't matter if you look at temperatures with the fan at 12V, 7V or in PWM mode. What's actually really good with this cooler are the noise levels when you drive the fan in PWM mode. In this case the Hyper 612v2 is almost inaudible.   - Noise level

Recommendation / Price   + -
Cooler Master has always been good with affordable mainstream coolers. Should you be looking for a 39 Euro cooler upgrade, then this model is worth having a look at. Although we believe that over time the market is going to correct the price more towards 30 than 40 Euro.   - Gaming

Rating
The Cooler Master Hyper 612v2 receives very good 4.5 out of 5 stars.
