The Fractal Design Define S2 is a mid-tower PC case designed for those who are looking for building a silent rig, which offers plenty of space even for high-end hardware as well as custom liquid cooling. Fractal Design decided to use their classic design approach. The materials and build quality are on a very good level, which is something we've come to expect from this brand over the years. Furtheremore there is finally a little bit of aluminum on a Fractal Design case agian since the brushed sheet metal plate that covers the front door is made out of aluminum.

On the inside there is a lot of space available. If you fit an ATX motherboard you can easily install a radiator in the front and one in the top. Apart from that, we really like the hard drive cages that have been placed behind the motherboard tray. This way you can use large radiators without removing HDD cages. Since silence is also a the key point of this case, Fractal Design (again) added a sound-dampening material. Testing the case as delivered with the three 140mm fans we found temperatures to be on a reasonable level, while the noise level was very low.

The Define S2 is available in different colors, which are black, blackout, white and gunmetal. All versions are available with a tempered glass panel. Speaking about features, we really like the space available for custom water cooling setups. Installing a pump, reservoir and up to four radiators, will be pretty straight forward.

The Fractal Design Define S2 is a PC case which we can definitely recommend. If you are looking for a mid-tower PC case with pre-installed acoustic insulation material as well as silent fans and on top of that it's fully compatible with custom watercooling gear, this is a great choice. The Fractal Design Define S2 is available on Geizhals for 154 Euro excluding shipping costs. This case manages to score a perfect 5 out of 5 stars.
