Connectors and I/O

Totally ASRock equipped the Fatal1ty Z97 Killer with six straight SATA ports. All ports offer 6Gbps bandwidth and four out of six SATA III ports are natively wired to the Z97 PCH. The two additional SATA 6Gbps ports get backed up by two PCI Express Gen 2.0 x1 lanes offering a total of 10 Gigbit bandwidth. What's also practical about SATA Express is the fact, that the two SATA-III connectors which are use, can also be used indivudually, which leaves the user with a choice wether to attach one SATA Express or two SATA drives. Unfortunately you won't find practical onboard power- and reset-buttons and there is also no debug display.

Totally you'll find six fan header on the Fatal1ty Z97 Killer which is enough, to provide a well equipped gaming rig with fresh air. The fan headers are located around the CPU socket as well as spread over the motherboard.

Looking at the external connectors directly at the back-panel ASRock equipped the Fatal1ty Z97 Killer with one PS2 mouse/keyboard connector, four USB 3.0/2.0 ports, four USB 2.0/1.1 ports, one gigabit ethernet port, an HDMI connector, a VGA out, a DVI port and an optical out as well as an analogue audio panel.
