General + -
With the Archon IB-E X2, Thermalright has a convincing and good product in its CPU cooler lineup. There is obviously no doubt that this is one of the best single-tower CPU coolers we had a chance to test in our lab, and as a bonus, it also comes with a great manufacturing quality. The overall performance is good and noise levels are very good as well. The cooler is extremely silent with the bundled fans at 7 volt and in PWM mode. The mounting system is also practical and compatible with all Intel sockets since LGA775, including the latest Intel LGA 2011 v3, as well as all AMD sockets from AM2 to FM2.   - Noise levels

Installation   + -
The mounting/installation process is easy and practical and the mounting kit is compatible with any recent Intel and AMD socket. The mounting mechanism parts are solid, and thermal paste comes in 1g syringe made by Thermalright itself, the CFIII thermal compound.   - Easy and practical
- Compatible Intel and AMD

Performance   + -
The cooling performance of the Thermalright Archon IB-E X2 is exellent. After testing, the Archon IB-E X2 ends up in the top half of our chart, which includes liquid cooling systems as well. Overall, the Archon IB-E X2 does a very good job compared to many of its main rivals and we can definitely say its one of the best single tower CPU air coolers on the market.   - Cooling performances

Noise Levels   + -
The overall noise levels are very good as well and the Thermalright Archon IB-E X2 CPU cooler is relatively silent. Using the PWM capabilities of the fans and when the voltage is set at 7V, this air cooler becomes virtually inaudible. At 12V, the fans are audible and the overall noise is at very reasonable level.   - Silent PWM and 7V-12V

Recommendation / Price   + -
Since it comes with truly excellent fans as well as great cooling performance for a single tower cooler, we can definitely recommend this air cooler. The Thermalright Archon IB-E X2 is a high quality product but with a price of 65 Euros, it is in line with other high-end air coolers.   - Overclocking
