With the AS-604, Asustor presents a NAS which aims at demanding home users or small businesses. By using an Intel Atom Dual Core processor, running at 2.13 GHz, the AS-604 promises to be very fast and the use of a Linux kernel grants enormous flexibility regarding the configuration options. Furthermore Asustor implemented their own App store, which lets you install additional apps with a simple click.

With Asustor there is a new brand competing in the NAS (Network Attached Storage) market. There are some interesting facts about this new company, since leading managers from QNAP left that company and founded Asustor. The reason that the company is called Asustor is that ASUS is investing into this project. If you look closely you will for example see similarities between Asustor and QANP when it comes to their naming conventions.
