Connectors and I/O

Totally Gigabyte equipped the Z77X-UP4TH with six angled SATA ports. This is enough for any office setup, gaming system or multimedia setup. You might have expected already, that this board doens't ship with a lot of features. Therefore there are no onboard power and reset buttons as well as no debug LED. The only thing - from this perspective - which looks a bit unusual is the mSATA slot between the CPU socket and the PCI Express x16 port. If you should choose to equip the slot with a drive, it's going to block one SATA port, since they share a lane.

Totally you'll find five fan header on the Z77X-UP4TH which is more than enough, to provide a well equipped office, multimedia or gaming system with fresh air. The fan headers are located around the CPU socket as spread over the motherboard.

Looking at the external connectors directly at the back-panel Gigabyte equipped the Z77X-UP4TH with a P/S2 connector, six USB 3.0/2.0 ports, one gigabit ethernet port, an HDMI connector, a VGA header, a DVI port as well as an optical out and an analogue audio panel. Furthermore there are the two Thunderbolt ports, we've already been talking about.
