Conclusion

General + -
With the Radeon R9 285 TurboDuo, PowerColor is offering a R9 285 based on a reference PCB paired up with their own cooling solution. Overall, the TurboDuo OC did ok in our testing, since performance is the way we expected it to be, cooling performance is ok too, but the cooler could be a little more silent.
As always we would have liked to see the manufacturer overclock the memory and it would have been nice to get a higher factory overclocking on the GPU.
Further improvements could have also been made regarding the delivery.
    - Memory Clock

Cooling / Noise Level   + -
PowerColor's TurboDuo is capable of keeping the card at adequate temperatures and when the card is in idle it can be considered silent. Under full load we describe the cooler as audible. Especially in idle there would be potential for a fan profile that would make the card almost inaudible. Regarding full load the GPU hits almost 80°C and therefore we don't recommend lowering the RPM and you'd have to live with a cooler you actually hear.   - Cooling performance

Performance   + -
Overall the 3D performance is as we expected and we would have liked to see PowerColor to push the GPU clock further in order to improve performance of its card, which would also make it stand out from the masses. The tiny overclock of 12 MHz make almost no different at all.

Idle power consumption of our test system with the PowerColor card is very good and we measured 68 Watts on the wall. Compared to a 280X for example this about 4 Watt less than. Under load our system pulls 268 Watts with this card which is still reasonable.

Recommendation / Price   + -
The PowerColor R9 285 TurboDuo OC is amongst the most affordable R9 285 graphics cards. It retails at 208 Euro, which is a really good price. Should you be looking for a well price R9 285 graphics card, then considering this particular model won't be a mistake.   - Gaming

The PowerColor R9 285 TurboDuo OC receives good 4 out of 5 stars.
