Unfortunately marketing statements from various manufacturers are acutally true, that there are lots of gamers out there who spend quite a lot of money on peripherials like mice and keyboard but they don't own a decent mousepad. With the 1030L Func wants to be one of the manufacturers, that has a high quality, gaming-grade surface in its portfolio and today we're going to have a closer look at it.

Closer look
The box of the 1030L is very stylish and elegant. In this case we find a simple, but strong, cardboard box that protects the mousepad well. Once the package is opened there is a little manual and the mousepad itself. On the back there is a quick description, which mentions the main features. Overall the 1030L ships very well protected and there should really nothing go wrong during shipment.
While the 1030L is not the "big brother", it still measures 33 cm by 26 cm. Therefore it has been generously sized and it perfectly fullfills the needs most gamers. Only if you want to place mouse as well as keyboard on the pad - to have a completely even surface - you need something, that is even bigger. Also at this point the design is simple, with the brand name and product name printed in the right corner. The surface itself got a fine structure, which allows the mouse to hover over it in an even manner. The only thing, that wasn't perfect is, that there are no feet in the center of the pad. Since the pad itself is not ultra stiff you will feel differences, depending on where the mouse is. Thanks to the fact, that this is a plastic mousepad, it es very easy to clean and once you do this it will feel like new again.

Conclusion
The Func 1030L has been apropriately sized. It's neither too small nor too big. Once you place you mouse on it, the rodent will start to hover very evenly over the fine surface. Materials used by Func are very good. The surface is solid and easy to clean, since it has been made from plastic. Unfortunately we don't understand why Func chose to equipe this pad with rubber feet instead of a rubber surface on the bottom side. The problem is that you actually feel where the rubber feet are and this can be irritating while gaming.
The Func Surface 1030L is, without any doubt, a great product. Func has put great care into making this mousepad, which is being reflected by the price, since roughly 30 Euro isn't exactly cheap.
Func Surface 1030L gets good four of five stars.
