At a first glance the Aero-1000 from Aerocool is a good looking case with neat and fresh design. Apart from that this midi tower offers quite a lot of space on the inside, which allows for the installation of custom watercooling gear as well as high-end hardware.

Features

Dust filters

All the big openings of the Aero-1000 feature washable dust filters which are easy to remove, thanks to the convenient retention system based on small clips.

Tool-free installation

The installation of the components inside the Aero-1000 is simple and quick thanks to docking systems and tool-less mounting systems, something that we have seen on high-end PC cases.

Well-thought cable managment

On the Aero-1000, Aerocool used rubber grommets of good quality and we certainly appreciate the strength of the rubber as even with some good pressure or force on the cables, the rubber never slipped out of place.

Watercooling ready

The Aerocool Aero-1000 is a case also designed for custom water cooling setups, as inside the case, there is plenty of room for radiator installation.

Product overview

Overview

The Aero-1000 is a mid-tower case featuring a huge front mesh and rather edgy lines. The front shows two 5.25" slots for the installation of optical drives or fan controllers. The I/O connections are located at the top and in this case there are two USB 3.0 ports in addition to traditional 3.5mm audio jack. The side panels are very simple, do not provide any slots for ventilation and only the left, as usual, offers a large plexiglass window in order to provide a clear lookg at the interior of the PC and show off all the components. The top, however, is a bit more complex as it includes the I/O connections and a mesh grill with space for two 120 or 140 mm fans covered by a magnetic dust filter.

Installation

Overview

The inside of the Aero-1000 is quite spacious, even though you might think it is not. While it might not look large visually, mostly due to a number of HDD/SSD cages, which are not aligned, it is quite the opposite. As we already said, the motherboard tray features pre-soldered standoffs, so that you can fix your motherboard without any hussle. There is also a big opening behind the socket, so that you can install aftermarket cooling systems without taking the whole motherboard off. Around the tray, there are four openings for routing cables and since there is a lot of space between the motherboard tray and the right panel, routing cables behind it should not be a big problem. The HDD slots and optical drives can be installed without any problems, thanks to the tool-less system used by Aerocool. All the HDD cages are removable in case you need more space. The most interesting aspect of this case is the generous interior space dedicated to the CPU and the graphics department. In our setup, we used a high-end CPU tower cooler and there is also enough space for AIO coolers with slim radiator.

Ventilation options

Overview

From the cooling point of view, the Aero-1000 offers the possibility to install a maximum of five fans. The package includes two 120mm fans mounted at the front and one positioned in the rear of the case. The Aero-1000 is also compatible with 140mm fans. Regarding the cooling systems, the Aero-1000 allows you to mount high-end CPU tower coolers and water cooling setups with 240 or 280 mm slim radiators.

Temperatures

Overview

For testing purposes we are using an ASUS P8Z77-I ITX motherboard, an Intel Core i5-2500K CPU, which is cooled by a be quiet! Dark Rock 3 cooler as well as a Club3D R9 290X royalAce graphics card. To put the CPU under full load, we are running prime95 for 10 min and in the case of the GPU, we are using Furmark also for 10 minutes.

Conclusion

The Aerocool Aero-1000 is a mid-tower PC case designed for those that aim to have a fresh rig compatible with all-in-one watercooling solutions as well as an ability to install high-end components. Aerocool decided to use a lucid metal white finish on this model and a plastic front finish on the front, which is rather light and prone to scratches. We would have prefered to see a different material as this would add a bit more value to the overall design of the product.

The available interior space is adequate for a case compatible with ATX motherboards and thanks to the extra space available after removing HDD cages, you can even build push-pull water cooling setups. Since the cooling seems to be the key point of this case, as the "Aero" name suggests, Aerocool included a total of three 120mm fans inside the bundle. Overall, the Aero-1000 allows you to mount up to five fans of different size.

The final price of the Aerocool Aero-1000 is about 70 euro at the price search engine Geizhals. In our opinion, the price matches the overall quality of the product. This PC case is a good solution for those who want a product suitable for water cooling systems or high-end rigs. The Aerocool Aero-1000 gets 4 out of 5 stars.
