Wearing confort / ergonomics / features
With their VOID Pro RGB Wireless Corsair created a comfortable gaming headset. Thanks to a reasonable weight, good balance and soft ear cushions this headset is comfortable to wear. Actually, the padding is made from memory foam, which has been covered using microfiber fabrics and therefore the VOID Wireless should fit virtually any head shape. Apart from that the microfiber cloth should last a small eternity. If you’re concerned about the durability of this headset, then we can tell you that its construction is very solid. Corsair is using a combination of high-quality plastic, aluminum and steel to create a product that's capable of coping with quite some punishment. A quick look at the charging cable shows it measures approximately 1.5 meters, which is long enough, since you’re anyway going to charge the headset only while you’re not using it. What’s interesting in this case as well is the fact, that the battery lasts for about 16 hours and that actually is really good. Corsair claims this can be achieved thanks to a new 2.4 GHz wireless chipset, which is more energy efficient than the previous chipset they’ve been using. On another note it’s interesting to mention that the wireless range is really good as well, covering approximately 15 meters. Unfortunately it’s not possible to pair this headset with your smartphone.
If you want to control the volume you’ll find a slider on the left ear cup. By moving it up and down you either increase or decrease the volume. On top of that this slider also works as a button and by pressing it for about three seconds the Dolby 7.1 mode is activated. Pressing the button quickly allows you to browse the different audio profiles and by pressing the button again you’re selecting a setting. The left ear cup also features a mute button for muting the microphone, that's intuitive to findfor the microphone.
As the name already suggests this version of the Corsair VOID does not only support wireless and Dolby 7.1 there is also RGB lighting. Both ear cups feature a backlit Corsair logo and using Corsair’s CUE Software you can change the color to anything you like and there are also different modes, like breathing, blinking, … Overall we have to say the lighting makes the this headset looks really nice.

Acoustics
Headphone
In order to really convince a headset doesn’t just have to be comfortable, what’s most important is how it sounds. To test the VOID Wireless Dolby 7.1 RGB we’ve been listening to music, playing games and watching movies. Since Corsair equipped this headset with big, enclosing and microfiber padded ear cups there is some passive noise cancelling but you can still hear ambient noise or other people talking next to you pretty well. If you’re looking for a headset with more effective passive noise cancelling, we’d recommend ones, which ship with leatherette ear pads.
The VOID Pro RGB headset was a rather pleasant surprise and the sound is, in our opinion, well balanced. While testing this headset we found it has great reproduction of highs, mids and bass. Overall Corsair did a good job from this point of view. Listening to very high volume we hear some distortion in the audio signal. If you love deep and strong bass, we recommend using an equalizer. Compared to other gaming headsets we've had for testing the overall quality is excellent, which is something we've come to expect from Corsair's gaming headsets.
Microphone
The microphone on this headset is good and so is the design. As you can see from the pictures there is a small button on the left ear cup, which is easily accessible and allows you to mute the microphone. The VOID is capable of making your voice sound clear and well understandable talking over Discord or Skype. We also like the fact that the microphone arm is bendable.

Software
The software included in the bundle
with VOID Wireless PRO RGB has a good looking GUI design. Overall the user interface is easy to understand and features like sound presets and the equalizer are localized intuitively. Changing the color of the RGB lighting is not that intuitive and you might have to play around a little bit until you've managed to change effects light breathing, bliking and so on.

Conclusion
The Corsair VOID Wireless PRO RGB gaming headset is an overall good product. The build quality as well as the materials used are impeccable
and excatly on the level we expected from Corsair. The comfort is very important with gaming headsets and this one is able to excel in that matter as well. The soft, memory foam cushions fit perfectly and you will never experience pressure points. When it comes to sound quality we would like Corsair to improve the drivers. The audio is balanced but we would expect a sound stage that is more colorful. Thanks to the fact that the factory preset is linear you can tune the sound quite a bit using the equalizer, which is integrated in Corsair's software.
Talking about additional features there is the RGB lighting, which make the VOID look really nice. If you want tune and change the RGB LEDs on your headset you have to install Corsair software. Corsair does not include a software CD in the bundle but the software is free and available to everyone to download. Apart from that there you get long battery life of 16h and the wireless range is great as well, since you can move 15m away from your PC easily. Although there is a long USB cable included in the delivery, you can't use the headset while it's charging.
The price of the VOID Wireless PRO RGB is in line with other similar products. The starting price on Geizhals, excluding shipping costs, is set at 115 Euro. Since the sound could really be improved the Corsair VOID Wireless PRO RGB earns
4 out of 5 stars.
