Firefox and Thunderbird 31 are here

Both versions at the same time

Thunderbird as well as Firefox are now available in version 31. It took the company quite some time to release this latest version and we're not completely sure whether it's a coincidence that both updates were released on the same day or not.

The fact that version 31 of Firefox and Thunderbird have been released the same day is even more surprising if you consider, that Mozilla has stopped further development on Thunderbird. There are only security patches coming from Mozilla and changes to the software, that's what the community is supposed to take care of.

A closer look at the release notes reveals there have been a lot of changes regarding stability and usability.

In case of Firefox the update cycle remains the same as usual and the release of version 31 has already been scheduled. The new version brings you security updates, tools for developers and performance as well as stability optimiziations but we're still wondering when Mozilla is to finally release a 64 bit version of their browser.
