EVGA teases the new ACX 2.0 cooler

Ball bearing fan and large heatpipes

In the next few weeks we will talk a lot about the new Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 and GTX 980 graphics cards, especially since Nvidia gave a green light to its AIB partners to come up with custom designs for the GTX 970 as of day one. Today, EVGA teased a brand new custom cooling solution that will be featured on the GTX 970 graphics cards as well as the GTX 980 at a later date, the ACX 2.0 cooler.

The new EVGA ACX 2.0 (Active Cooling Xtreme) cooler is called “The World’s Most Efficient Air Cooler”, so it is safe to expect that the performance will at least be in the same range as high-end aircooling solutions like the Twin Frozr V by MSI, the Strix or the DirectCU II by Asus, the Phantom by Gainward or the WindForce by Gigabyte.

Thanks to the new design, based on ball bearing fans, EVGA is able to regulate the air flow much better than its competition, thus offering great cooling performances with very little noise.

EVGA actually released a 3D render of the new cooler so we can not speculate too much on its specifications, but it should feature a great number of aluminum fins and a very large heatpipes. It also features two 100mm fans, integrated into a shroud that looks a lot like the one from the ACX 1.0.

Below you can see the teaser video released by EVGA.
