Apple's new 12-inch Retina Macbook Air to be fanless

Thanks to Intel Core M CPU

Although earlier reports suggested that Apple's MacBook Air family is going to get a smaller, slimmer and an improved member of the lineup, the new fresh report suggest that we will be looking at a 12-inch Retina MacBook Air that will feature a complete redesign.

According to a new report from Jack March, citing sources familiar with Apple's plans, the Retina Macbook Air will feature a noticeably thinner design, all thanks to the fact that it will be completely fanless, courtesy of Intel's new Core M CPU. The report also suggest that the display bezels are thinner and close to current MacBook Pro Retina lineup and that speaker has been moved above the keyboard in order to stretch the keyboard to the edges, something most earlier 12-inch notebooks had to do.

The same report also noted that the new 12-inch Retina Macbook Air will not use the well known MagSafe connector but rather a new battery charging technology that has not been used in any Mac system so far, as well as ditch the current USB connector design and use the USB Type C ports.

The report does not reveal any more details regarding the new 12-inch Retina MacBook Air but suggest that it should arrive sometime in mid-2015, so it still has a long way to go.
