ASUS X99-Pro motherboard now available

Fits between X99-Deluxe and X99-A

ASUS has now announced that its ASUS X99-Pro motherboard has now started selling in the market. Placed between the ASUS X99-Deluxe, ASUS' flagship motherboard, and the cost-effective X99-A, the ASUS X99-Pro is aimed at those looking for a cost-effective solution but with added features.

While it still uses exactly the same ATX form-factor PCB as the ASUS X99-A motherboard, the new X99-Pro comes with a few extra features including the integrated ASUS HomeCloud WiFi+Bluetooth with 2x2 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0, a decorative white shroud covering a part of the PCB where the Crystal Sound 2 audio chip is placed as well as the rear I/O area and an extra heatsink over the VRM area which is linked to the PCH heatsink via heatpipe.

The rest of the specifications and features are pretty much the same as on the ASUS X99-A so you are looking at three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots (x16, x16/x16, x16/x16/x8), one PCI-Express 2.0 x16 (x4 mode) and two PCI-Express 2.0 x1 slots, two M.2 socket 3 slots, eight SATA 6Gbps ports and one SATA Express port, Intel's Gigabit Ethernet, bunch of USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports, and plenty of ASUS exclusive features.

The ASUS X99-Pro is currently listed at Newegg.com the US with a price set at US $329.79 while in Europe you can find it listed for as low as €283.
