Star Citizen closing to US $64 million goal

Promises pets when hits that mark

Star Citizen, a crowd-funded game made by Roberts Space Industries and powered by CryEngine, is probably the most successful crowd-funded game ever and is currently closing on its US $64 million goal.

Now that the stretch goal is about 53 percent into US $64 million goal, Roberts Space Industries have announced that it will include a pet system once it hits that goal.

According to the post from RSI, although they haven't implemented a traditional pet system yet, despite the fact that there are repair bots and fish in the game, when crowd-funding reaches US $64 million, this will all change. RSI also noted that there will be plenty of traditional terrestrial options as well as anything exotic that they "can dream up in the Star Citizen universe."

This stretch goal, according to RSI, "is in honor of Paddington, Strike Dog of the UEES Paul Steed. In one of our first videos Paddington helped us get to $4 million back in the initial campaign, and sadly passed away recently."
