Sony Playstation 4 sales exceeded 20.2 million units

More than 1.7 million consoles since January

Sony opened up its Game Developers Conference 2015 press event in style saying that it managed to sell over 20.2 million consoles.

Sony's Playstation 4 console is doing quite well as the company has announced during GDC 2015 that it managed to sell over 20.2 million consoles worldwide. This is quite an achievement considering that it managed to sell over 1.7 million consoles since January, when company gave its last update.

Sony did quite well when you compare it to its main competition as Microsoft managed to ship around 10 million Xbox One consoles by November last year.

Sony's SCE CEO Andrew House said: "We are so grateful for the enormous support from PlayStation fans worldwide, and we are truly humbled that gamers around the globe have continued to select PS4 as the best place to play. We remain steadfast in our commitment to deliver unique and interactive entertainment experiences powered by the network and the PS4 system’s deep social capabilities."

In addition to announcing its sale figures, Sony was quite keen to talk about its new game lineup for Playstation 4, which include some rather impressive titles like Batman: Arkham Knight, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Bloodborne, Until Dawn, Tearaway Unfolded, and Uncharted 4.
