Mushkin launches new ECO2 SSDs

Affordable line of SSDs

Mushkin Enhanced MFG has unveiled its new ECO2 line of solid state drives (SSDs) which should, according to Mushkin, deliver fast performance at an affordable price point.

To be available in 60GB, 120GB, 240GB, and 480GB capacities, the new Mushkin ECO2 of SSDs are designed, assembled and tested in Texas, USA so quality should be quite good. Based on a well known Sandforce SF-2200 series controller paired up with MLC NAND, the sequential performance of the new Mushkin ECO2 line is rated at up to 550MB/s read and up to 530MB/s write (vary depending on the capacity) while random 4K write performance is at up to 87,000 IOPS.

The new ECO2 line is based on a standard 7mm 2.5-inch form-factor and SATA 6Gbps interface and are backed by a 3-year warranty.

Currently exclusively available at Newegg.com, although we hope these will also be available worldwide, the new Mushkin ECO2 line starts at US $39.99 for the 60GB version, US $54.99 for the 120GB one, US $84.99 for the 240GB model and US $159.99 for the 480GB version.
