OCZ officially announces Vector 180 SSD

New SSD Guru management tool

OCZ has now officially announced its newest Vector 180 SSD based on Barefoot 3 controller and Toshiba MLC NAND. In addition to the new Vector 180 SSD, OCZ also unveiled its new SSD Guru storage management software.

As noted, the new OCZ Vector 180 SSD is based on the well known OCZ Barefoot 3 controller and Toshiba A19nm MLC NAND flash. It will be available in 120, 240, 480 and 960GB capacities and offer sequential transfer speeds of up to 550MB/s with random 4K performance of up to 100,000 IOPS.

The Vector 180 SSD comes bundled with US $55 worth of accessories, including the Acronis True Image drive cloning software and a 3.5-inch desktop adapter and is backed OCZ's ShieldPlus warranty.

In addition to the Vector 180 SSD, OCZ has also launched its new SSD Guru storage management software, which provides monitoring, maintenance, SSD tuning, OS optimizations and more, all in one place. It includes an overview dashboard, SSD Tuner, and OS Tuner modules, providing all needed tools for SSD management.

We already had a chance to review the Vector 180 SSD 480GB model, which is currently listed for €276 in Europe, while 120GB and 240GB models are listed at €92,90 and €148,11, respectively. The 960GB Vector 180 SSD is currently listed at €507,78.
