Nvidia GTX 980 Ti could come in Q2 2015

Custom versions from day one

There have already been some rumors regarding Nvidia's upcoming GTX 980 Ti graphics card, which should be based on the same GM200 GPU as the Nvidia's current flagship, the GTX Titan X, but now new rumors showed up suggesting that the GTX 980 Ti could launch in Q2 2015.

While Titan X is priced at US $999, the upcoming Nvidia GTX 980 Ti is expected to be a cheaper version of the GTX Titan X, offering 6GB of GDDR5 memory and slightly higher clocks, something that could make it even faster than the GTX Titan X, despite half the amount of memory.

AMD's next-generation graphics card are not coming before end of Q2 2015 or even 2H 2015 and recent report suggest that Nvidia GTX 980 Ti might launch sometime between May 16th and May 26th. Same report also suggest that Nvidia could also hold back the GTX 980 Ti for Computex 2015, which kicks of on June 2nd.

According to earlier rumors and unlike the GTX Titan X, Nvidia might allow its partners to come up with custom designs from day one, which will bring some rather interesting things to market and we will probably see plenty of factory-overclocked versions.

In any case, the GM200 based GTX 980 Ti is coming, sooner or later and we will probably hear more about it as we draw closer to the suggested launch date.
