Mionix unveils Castor gaming mouse

With PMW-3310 gaming optical sensor

Mionix has announced its latest addition to the premium gaming mouse lineup, the Castor.

Based on a right-hand design with support for palm, claw and fingertip-grip, the Castor features six buttons and PMW-3310 gaming grade optical sensor. The right-handed design also has a dedicated pinky- and ring-finger support groove while the PMW-3310 gaming grade optical sensor has no positive or negative hardware acceleration and should offer good accuracy, smooth tracking and maximum speed of more than 5.45m/sec (215 IPS) with up to 10000 DPI resolution.

With 122.46×70.42×40.16 mm dimensions, 93.8g weight and four layers of rubber coating with optimized textured side rubber should make it one of the more comfortable gaming mice on the market, at least on paper. The Castor gaming mouse also comes with 32-bit ARM processor and 128kb of built-in memory for storing macros and profiles. It has two integrated LEDs in two color zones with up to 16.8 million color options including color shift, solid, blinking, pulsating and breathing color effect modes.

It also has a gold plated USB plug with 2m PVC cable with cable reinforcer.

The new Mionix Castor is expected to be available worldwide in September with a price set at US $69.99 and it is currently up for pre-order at Mionix's website.
