CPU delid tool can be 3D printed as well

Cheaper way to delid your favorite CPU

While Der8auer's Skylake Delid Die Mate is a high-end product there is apparently a cheaper way to delid your CPU safely, at least if you have access to a 3D printer.

Spotted by Overclock3D.net site, the 3D printed delidding tool allows you to 3D print a delid tool with two parts that can be placed in a vice and used to safely delid your favorite CPU. While it is definitely safer than using the traditional razor blade and vice methods, you'll still need an access to a 3D printer, which is not a cheapest thing either.

Der8auer's Delid Die Mate has become available at Caseking.de and Overclockers.co.uk and despite its rather higher €89,90 price tag, it has already been sold out.

The Delid Die Mate is also confirmed to work with Skylake, Broadwell, Haswell, Ivy Bridge and Devil's Canyon CPUs. According to our info, another batch has been already ordered but if that price is just too steep for your pockets, you can always try to find an access to a 3D printer and try out the 3D printed delid tool.

In any case, happy overclocking however you delid your CPU and let us know if you try out the 3D printed version before us.
