Lenovo partners with Razer for new gaming desktops

New Lenovo and Razer Y-series coming in 2016

Just a few days before DreamHack Winter 2015 show opened its doors, Lenovo has announced its partnership with Razer, by teasing the upcoming Lenovo Y-Series Razer Edition gaming desktop prototype.

Based on a special version of the Lenovo gaming Y-series PC case, which will now feature Razer's badge and Razer Chroma lighting effects, the new Lenovo Y-Series Razer Edition gaming desktop is definitely a nice looking PC case and certainly got the looks to compete with the likes of Dell and Alienware. Unfortunately, other than the Chroma lighting, Razer or Lenovo did not reveal any details about the actual specifications or any other features that will be available with the new Lenovo Y-series Razer Edition gaming desktops.

According to press releases, Lenovo will use its manufacturing, supply chain and channel relationships while Razer should bring its immersive technology and deep expertise in the gaming industry, making the new Y-series gaming desktops a match made in heaven.

Both Lenovo and Razer have issued their statements and expressed their excitement about the upcoming cooperation. Razer's Co-Founder and CEO Ming Liang Tan said that :"Lenovo is the world’s No.1 PC maker. Razer is the world's No.1 gaming lifestyle brand. Together we have the passion, insight and operational capabilities to delight and empower the PC gaming community worldwide." Victor Rios, Vice President and General Manager for Workstation BU, Gaming and Industry Solutions at Lenovo said :"We are thrilled to partner with Razer and bring out the best from both companies to deliver a better, more immersive gaming experience for customers. While we bring to the table our engineering expertise, design muscle and scale, Razer adds in the finesse and experience of serving the gaming ccommunity for the last decade. We believe our partnership is a strong first step that will lead to the delivery of winning PC gaming solutions and a brand new experience to our customers."

Lenovo and Razer have promised that more details about the new Y-Series Razer Edition gaming desktops will be available in the coming months while the actual product should be available in 2016.
