AMD announces its Computex 2016 press conference

To unveil Polaris GPUs and next-gen APUs

AMD has scheduled a press conference on June 1st where the company is expected to unveil its first graphics cards based on Polaris GPUs as well as the next-gen APUs.

The AMD June 1st press conference will line up with Computex 2016 show and according to details, the top of the AMD will be there, including AMD's CEO, Lisa Su, Radeon Technologies Group chief Raja Koduri and the AMD's CPU and APU head honcho and ex Intel chap, Jim Anderson.

Unfortunately, AMD did not reveal a lot of details regarding the event in its press release other than it will be focused on both Polaris GPUs as well as next-gen APUs, but we certainly hope that the company will talk about its Zen CPU architecture as well.

We already know a lot about the Polaris GPU architecture and we are pretty sure that AMD will finally launch its first Radeon 400 series graphics cards. Unfortunately, according to earlier rumors, AMD will target mainstream market rather than go for high-end, leaving Nvidia's new Pascal-based GTX 1080/1070 graphics cards without any competition.

Hopefully, AMD will also unveil more details regarding its first Zen-based FX-series CPUs as it has a lot riding on the new CPU architecture.
