Colorful teases liquid cooled GTX 1080

Coming sometime after May 27th

Colorful has announced its new liquid cooled GTX 1080 which comes with a custom liquid cooling block out of the box.

The water block for the new Colorful liquid cooled GTX 1080 is made by Bykski, a Chinese water block manufacturer.

The first liquid cooled GTX 1080 from Colorful will be based on a standard PCB from the GTX 1080 Founders Edition graphics cards which is not the best solution as earlier reports suggested that the overclocking potential was limited by power rather than cooling.

The water block from Bykski should provide much lower temperature for the new Colorful GTX 1080 but we suspect that the card will retain its reference clocks.

According to details, the liquid cooled GTX 1080 from Colorful could be released sometime after May 27th and there are still no details regarding the price.

There will be plenty of aftermarket liquid cooling blocks on the market so it will be possible to replace your stock Founders Edition cooler with it or even go for a cheaper AIB version of the GTX 1080 and use your favorite liquid cooling block.
