Super Talent unveils new PCIe Nova U.2 SSD

Up to 3GB/s read and 2.2GB/s write

Super Talent has unveiled its new Nova solid-state drive (SSD) lineup, featuring PCI-Express 3.0 x4 U.2 interface and ranging from 120GB to 1920GB in capacity.

Based on yet to be detailed controller, the new Super Talent Nova PCIe U.2 SSD lineup uses MLC NAND and offers rated sequential read and write performance of up to 3.0GB/s and 2.2GB/s, respectively.

Available in 120GB, 240GB, 480GB, 960GB and 1920GB capacities, the Super Talent Nova uses standard 2.5-inch 9.5mm-thick form-factor and features U.2 (SFF-8539) connector with PCIe 3.0 x4 interface.

While we do not have precise endurance rating, Super Talent did note that it has a mean time between failure (MTBF) rating of 1 million hours, which is pretty much a standard in consumer-grade SSDs.

Super Talent Nova PCIe SSD series does not have plenty of competition in the market as currently, the most popular PCIe U.2 SSD is the Intel SSD 750-series.

Unfortunately, we do not have a precise launch date or the price in order to compare it to Intel drives.
