AOC shows its VR headset at Gamescom 2016

Still no specifications

There is a big hype in the VR market now with Oculus Rift and HTC Vive headsets trading blows but it appears that these could be getting more competition soon as AOC has decided to tease its own VR headset at the Gamescom 2016 show.

While there are still no precise specifications as the device is still in its prototype phase, we expect that it could be similar to HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.

According to Stefan Sommer, Director Marketing & Business Management EMEA at AOC, the company has been at the forefront of developments in the display sector so this is a netural step. He also added that the new VR headset is only the beginning of a fascinating development and that AOC customers can look forward to even more exciting products in the not too distant future.

We are surely looking forward to hear more about AOC's own VR headset as the competition will only help consumers by driving the price of VR down.
