Intel revised 8-series chipset coming in September

Fixing USB 3.0 host controller problem

Motherboards that will be based on the C2-stepping and that should fix the design flaw in the Intel 8-series chipset integrated USB 3.0 host controller should come in September 2013, according to a report from Digitimes.

In case you missed it earlier, Intel noted that its 8-series chipset has a slight design flaw which causes devices connected to the USB 3.0 port to sometimes fail to reinitialize after the system wakes up from a S3 sleep state. This issue, although does not sound that big, would force users that are using USB 3.0 external HDD devices to replug them after waking up the system.

According to a report from Digitimes.com, motherboards based on C2-stepping should be on retail/e-tail shelves in September 2013.
