Powercolor officially announces LCS R9 290X

Radeon R9 290X with EKWB water block

Although we had a chance to see it just a few days earlier, Powercolor has now officially announced its new Powercolor LCS R9 290X, a custom R9 290X paired up with a full-cover block from EK Water Blocks.

Since it is cooled by a premium full-cover water block from EK Water Blocks, Powercolor has decided to threw in a slight factory-overclock as well setting the LCS R9 290X to works at 1060MHz, which is 60MHz higher than reference one while 4GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 512-bit memory interface, ended up overclocked to 1350MHz (5.4GHz effective), which is a 100MHz higher than the reference one.

The new Powercolor LCS R9 290X also feature the Gold Power Kit design which will, despite a modest factory-overclock, ensure a decent overclocking potential and stability as well as stable power efficiency under load.

The EK Water Blocks full-cover water block is made of nickel plated copper and, according to Powercolor, should keep the LCS R9 290X below 60 degrees Celsius, even under full load. It comes with both high-flow 3/8" and 1/2" fittings (barbs) and features EKWB's high-flow design which means that it can be used even with weaker/more silent pumps.

Unfortunately, Powercolor still did not shed any light regarding the actual availability date or the price.
