Kingston working on Phison-based M.2 SSD

With Phison PS3108 controller

According to a fresh report, Kingston will be releasing an M.2 SSD which will be based on a Phison PS3108 controller.


The pictured M.2 SM2280S3 SSD over at Kitguru.net uses Phison PS3108 controller which comes with support for SATA interface and should deliver performance of up to 540/514 MB/s for read and write.

The new Kingston SM2280S3 is expected to be available in 120, 240 and 480GB capacities and pack DDR3 memory for cache.

Although the price is still unknown, the Phison-based M.2 SSD from Kingston is expected to be one of the cheapest M.2 solution on the market once it launches.
