Bitfenix is not only a case manufacturer, the company also sells fans and power supplies as well as a selection of modding products. Today we're going to have a close look at the Alchemy 2.0 LED strips, which feature practical magnets for simple installation.

Alchemy is BitFenix's premium modding brand. The company offers for example sleeved cables, where the sleeving is made from real cloth instead of a plastic fiber. Apart from that they've now introduced their magnetic LED strips, which should offer a very simple way to make you mod look even better. The strips have been equipped with so called TriBright 5050 SMD LEDs, which you can also find with the original Alchemy LED strips. As you might have imagined the LED strips are available with LEDs that offer different colors.

Conclusion

The Alchemy 2.0 LED strips are a really nice idea and they are exceptionally easy to put in place. Thanks to a modular system, which was also available with the previous LED strips, you can basically daisy-chain them, to make a longer cord. Apart from that there is a flexible PCB, which allows you to bend the strips by up to 90° without damaging them. The TriBright LEDs are available in five different colors. Therefore there should be enough choice to find a matching color for your modding rig. The emitted light is comfortable and it casts soft shadows, while still being bright. The small magnets are placed inside the polyurethane layer belwo the LED strip; the attachment system is well thought and we did not observe any problem during the installation at all, except you try to use these strips in an aluminium case. That - for apparent reasons - simply doesn't work.

Although this is a premium product, the price is competitive; the BitFenix Alchemy 2.0 Magnetic Stripes are available on Caseking with prices between 10 and 29 Euros depending on the model.

We give the Alchemy 2.0 Magnetic LED Strips good 4 out of 5 stars.
