Totally ASUS provided the Rampage III Extreme with eight SATA connector which have been angled by 90 degrees. You can find them below the RAM slots. Using angled SATA ports has the advantage that they don't collide with extra long graphics cards. In order to provide graphics cards with stable power supply there are two additional molex connectors onboard. Of course there are also start, reset and CLR-COMS buttons. Additionally you find dip switches to activate and deactivate each of the PCI-Express slot. Being an overclocker ASUS also provided you with the possiblity to read out the currents. There are measuring points onboard ranging from Vcore to VRAM, which means its possible to read out all the currents of intrest easily.

  

Totally you'll find seven black fan headers onboard which is more than enough to keep a recent high-end system cool. Furthermore the fan headers are located around the CPU socket and on the bottom edge of the board. As we already mentioned there are two additional molex plugs onboard which help stabilizing the power supply when you overclock your graphics cards. Also very practical is the fact that ASUS provided the Rampage III Extreme with two BIOS chips and you can switch them using a button.

  

Looking at the external connectors ASUS provided the Rampage III Extreme with one a PS2 mouse and keyboard connector, six USB 2.0/1.1 ports, two USB 3.0/2.0 ports, one firewire port, one eSATA connector, a Gigabit Ethernet port, an analogue audio panel and the iROG USB port.
