Conclusion

With its SandForce SF-2281 based 240 GByte HyperX SSD, Kingston isn't exactly within the specs. Regarding write performance the values we get are slightly above the numbers the manufacturer promises. The read performance on the other hand is higher than the values Kingston claims the drive can reach. We measured peaks which were 526 MByte/s for writing and 543 MByte/s were reached when performing read operations. On average the 240 GByte Kingston HyperX SSD can keep up with the Vertex 3 240 GByte drive that is also based on SandForces latest SF-2281 controller.   

We very much liked the delivery the Kingston HyperX 240 GByte SSD. comes with. You'll for example find a 2.5 inch to 3.5 inch adapter included. There even is an external case in the delivery and a copy of Acronis Disk image. Therefore Kingston made a possible transition from an HDD to an SSD much easier
