Display

Toshiba equipped the Qosmio F750-10L with a glossy 15.6 inch auto stereoscopic display that features a 1920 x 1080 FullHD resolution. Furthermore the display comes with LED backlight. A closer look at the displays brightness reveals that it is above average. Also the contrast ratio is good and colors are pleasantly being displayed. Furthermore the viewing angle is excellent. It doesn't matter if you change your viewing position horizontally or vertically. The colors don't invert or become brighter. If there wasn't the glossy display the viewing angle would have been stable all the way up to 178 degrees.

To test this displays 3D functionality we play a copy of Tron in 3D. Especially when things or people move from the background into the foreground or vice versa the 3D effect is clearly visible. In generals it seems like the displays depth is being extended by ten centimeters. The effect cannot be compared to NVIDIAs 3D vision with shutter glasses but keeping in mind that there is no need for shutter glasses makes the user experience exceptional.

As we've already mentioned Toshiba uses an auto stereoscopic display to create the 3D "illusion". To create a three dimensional image two things are needed: a rangefinder and a prallax. Toshiba put a camera into the Qosmio F750-10L to keep track of the viewers eyes and face. The principle behind a parallax can easily be demonstrated. Simply hold up one of your thumbs in front of you and close one eye and afterwards close the other one. You'll notice that you're thumb seems to move although you keep the position of it still. In the case of an auto stereoscopic display the parallax is being created by the use of a lenticular grid.

Input Devices

The Qosmio F750-10L notebook comes with a full-size keyboard as well as a number pad. Usefully placed, there are arrow keys which are suitable not only for gamers, office useres will enjoy them equally. Typing on the Qosmio F750-10L is very comfortable and the keyboard itself leaves a good impression.

Centered, below the keyboard you can find the touchpad. It has been integrated into the cases material and offers a left and a right key. The touchpad also offers scrolling functionality. It might takes a little time until you're familiar with the scrolling functionality. Because there is no frame around the touchpad, scrolling wont be intuitive.
