Conclusion

With the HCP-1000 Platinum, Antec offers a top product. The layout is very nice and the quality of the internal manufacturing including soldering is simply awesome! This is kind of a surprise, since the case doesn't look special at all. This is a perfect example where the first look doesn't tell the truth. Remarkable is that the OEM (Delta) wants to stay on the safe side and does not try to save money in using cheaper components. A perfect example are the APFC capacitors which are rated at 450V instead of the usual 400-420V. The Antec HCP-1000 Platinum is in our point of view one of the most reliably PSU available on the retail market. We especially recommend this PSU when high reliability is needed but the budget does not allow the purchase of professional redundant server PSU. In comparison with other power supplies with similar power rating this unit offers not so many modular cables. Additionally a good cooling performance has on this PSU priority over being very quiet. The HCP-1000 Platinum is well audible under load, which means we've heard more silent PSU's in the past.

This PSU is ideal when superior Quality with high efficiency and very good DC output quality is desired and the acoustic noise level is less important.
