Today splmann and racoon303 have been toying about with a 5960X we're having here. Initially until a few days ago we all though this CPU could not do much on the uncore but for whatever reason the chip now runs 4.6GHz on the uncore stable. That's not really a world record frequency but apparently it's more than stock.

After it was clear the CPU doesn't have a really crappy uncore, splamnn started to do some benching with HWBot Prime. After some hours it looked like this CPU can run HWBot Prime at 5.93 to 5.95 GHz, which is pretty ok if you ask me.

Ok then, here are a few pics from todays session. If you want to check the full gallery click here.

Congratz from my side as well. It looks like we're starting to get somewhere I'm pretty sure, there are even better results to follow this one

The next session is going to happen tomorrow and splmann and racoon303 will be benching together. Maybe they'll also find out a little more about racoons GTX 980, which appears to run 2GHz on the GPU ...

It looks like splmann and racoon really want to know what this 5960X can do in terms of max CPU-Z validation. As far as I know they're going to have a close look at what the individual cores of this chip can do. I'm quite curious what the two will achieve tomorrow. So far racoon scored a 9th place on HWBot regaring max frequency on the i7-5960X with 6137MHz. splmann believes this beast can do even more ... 6400+ is his guess. Let's see if he's right :O
