der8auer hits 7'562 MHz on Core i7-7740K

A little gem

Although it is expected that Kaby Lake-X is going to be launched very soon well-known overclocker Roman "der8auer" Hartung has found yet another little gem. During the "Performance Matters - Helium Night" at Computex Taipei, the overclocker der8auer was able to achieve a monstrously high 7'562 MHz overclock using the new Kaby Lake-X Core i7-7740K CPU and an ASUS Rampage VI Apex.

The ASUS ROG Rampage VI Apex is the second motherboard to hit ASUS' new APEX lineup, like the previous version this one has been designed having overclockers in mind specifically. There are several additional features that are designed to help keep the CPUs stable when using sub-zero cooling like LN2 or LH2. The ROG Rampage VI APEX has already scored several HWBOT world records, showcasing strong performance on the new Intel X299 platform.

Since the Kaby Lake-X launch is incoming rather soon we are sure that we will see more overclockers push max CPU-Z on their Core i7-7740K. At this point in time we’re curious to finally see what the upcoming Intel Core i7 and i9 processors will be capable of.
