AMD and Cooler Master show their Wraith Ripper cooler

For Threadripper 2 CPUs

Alongside the announcement of the Threadripper 2 processors, AMD has unveiled a capable cooler that can handle the rumored 250W TDP, which these chips are supposed to produce. According to AMD, Threadripper 2 will come with an Asetek retention bracket providing compatibility with a number of closed-loop water coolers. For this particular cooler the company teamed up with Cooler Master to come up with a capable tower cooler as well.

The so called Wraith Ripper cooler comes with RGB lighting for the Ryzen Threadripper logo and two additional LED strips. Each zone can be customised with animations, speed and color. Furthermore custom profiles can be created and save using the Cooler Master software.

The cooler features no less than seven copper heat pipes and there is a number of aluminum fins through with air is being pushed and pulled. There is a 120mm fan in the center of the cooler providing good airflow. The cooler looks solid and rather bulky, as we would expect it from a cooler capable of dealing with 250W of thermal output.

According to Cooler Master, the Wraith Ripper will be available for purchase from September 27th and it will cost €119 Euro.
