With the GeForce GTX 980 Poseidon Platinum, ASUS
has a highly attractive and unique product in its portfolio. We like and
appreciate the idea of a hybrid cooling solution, that allows
users to choose how they want to chill their card. It also allows for
watercooling out of the box without voiding the warranty. 3D performance
as well as cooling performance are good and we also like the fact that
the card is equiped with a backplate. |

| In terms of raw cooling performance, the DirectCU
H2O offers good air cooling performance. Especially when you consider
the design of this cooler compared to a DirectCU II for example, then
the air cooling performance is very good. Apparently the card runs at
even lower temperatures when the watercooler is being used. If we use the card aircooled, noise levels are very reasonable. In idle the card can be described as very silent and under full load the cooler is silent. |

| Overall, the 3D performance is good but
as said previously, performance could have easily been improved by
additionally overclocking the memory. Nevertheless this is complaining
on a very high level, since this is a factory overclocked GTX 980 graphics
cards. A closer look at power consumption reveals that this GTX 980 Poseidon Platinum astonishingly little power and therefore the efficiency of this card is very good. |
