Conclusion

General + -
With the K95 RGB Platinum, Corsair has created a high quality gaming keyboard, which is almost flawless. We like the fact, that this keyboard feels very sturdy, which is partially because of the high weight as well as thanks to the aluminum face-plate used. Apart from that there are the new CherryMX RGB Speed switches, which are very comfortable for typing and allow complete customiziation in the case of the backlight. Furthermore there is also a USB port on the back part of the keyboard.   - Weight

- Only one additional USB connector

Manufacturing quality / Ergonomics   + -

The Corsair K95 RGB Platinum gaming keyboard is very comfortable to use, all the keys are well placed and easy to reach so you will not find yourself pressing the wrong key by accident. Regarding the CherryMX RGB Speed switches we can say, they're precise and linear as usual while providing excellent tactile feedback. Comparing these switches to other models from Cherry we would say they are most similar to the CherryMX Red but they do feel softer than the Red switches.

- Comfort
- Aluminum

Software   + -

The K95 RGB Platinum comes bundled with a new software. Unlike the first release which was a bit tricky to use and learn, the new version is much easier to understand and use. The new Corsair UE software allows you to program each key and save your profiles to onboard memory. Apart from that it's now very easy to configure the differnt lighting effects, which was a bit a pain with the first versions of this software as well. In the end the software is very close to perfection and we can't think of more to ask for.

  - Easy to use

Recommendation / Price   + -
A closer look at the price of the Corsair K95 RGB Platinum reveals that you have to pay 230 Euro in order enjoy this keyboard. For this price you get a gaming keyboard, which features mechanical switches, individual RGB backlight and exceptionally high build quality. This keyboard definitely comes with a vast feature set yet the price of 230 Euro excluding shipping costs is really steep.   - Gaming
