China going for high-end GPUs according to Nvidia

Nvidia gets boost in sales

While explaining the shift in marketing effort focus to high-end graphics adapter, Nvidia CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang noted that there is a significant shift to higher-end GPUs in China, market which was usually reserved for entry-level GPUs.

While being one of the biggest markets around, China was pretty much focused on entry-level or even integrated graphics adapters but in recent years, the situation changed as high-end GPUs are becoming quite big in that part of the world.

During the company's financial call, Nvidia CEO, Jen-Husn Huang noted that the company is "seeing a shift to higher end GPUs in China," which "probably has to do with the dramatic change in improvement in production value of games in China.”

According to Huang, recent Chinese games have become rather graphically impressive and require more GPU capability, something that has a lot to do with the market shift.

This is definitely good news for both Nvidia and AMD as China is quite a big market.
